Nelson Govender (Executive Chairman)
Nelson Govender’s background includes a range of executive leadership roles focused on business management, supply chain and production/operations in the fields of resins, coatings, adhesives, renewable energy and engineering.
He currently serves as a director within various enterprises, driving growth, participating in the set up of operations and the expansion into new markets together with the development of innovative products.
These executive roles include:
Nelson Govender has worked for over 30 years in the resin industry, working his way from the laboratory through to becoming the operations director and shareholder in a large concern employing over 250 staff, leading the integrated supply chain which included: Procurement, warehousing/logistics/distribution, manufacturing, QHSE, engineering (plant design, maintenance and projects).
Nelson ended his corporate career in 2013 in order to pursue individual smaller businesses as an entrepreneur
Nelson Govender has studied at various institutions.
He has obtained qualifications in:-
Production management, work study, business management, engineering
And various certificates in:-
Quality management, industrial relations, logistics, warehousing, and project management.

Janice Govender (Financial Director)
Studied at Business Management institute and obtained intermediate certificates towards the CIS Diploma. She has worked as an accounts clerk for Chartered Accountants for 23 years, as a production planner for a period of 2 years and thereafter for 15 years as an Accountant/Admin Manager for a large group of companies.
She joined LHL in April 2018 as the financial director.
Marshall Pillay (Works Director)
After matriculating, Marshall Pillay, joined LHL Engineering in 1993 as an apprentice boilermaker. He worked his way to boilermaker foreman in 2005. In 2009 Marshall became a director and a 10% shareholder. Marshall has invested all his energies into making LHL the name it is today, recognised in the industry for its reliability and fair pricing.
Silken Govender (General Manager)
Market Development & amp; Key Customer
Silken Govender was employed at Elgin Engineering in 1992 as labourer during a Sapref shutdown and thereafter worked his way up to semiskilled, operator, fitter, supervisor, manager and thereafter business manager. Has vast shutdown, maintenance and project experience with Sapref, Chevron, Engen and Petrosa. Currently handling the Sapref 2019 TA project. Under went Mandev and project management training and received employee of the year 1998, 2000, 2003,2005, 2009,2010.
Pravin Laljit (QHSE Manager)
Pravin Laljit has over 40 years of experience in the Marine, Petrochemical, Pressure Equipment, Tanks and General Fabrication Industry. He has been a Quality Manager / Engineer for various Corporate responsible for the Business IS0 9001, IS0 3834-2 Quality and Welding Managing System.
His current responsibility at LHL Engineering is to promote and maintain the ISO 9001 & the ISO 3834-2 Quality Welding Management System, manage and co ordinate the Quality Department.

Quentin Le Grange (Commercial Manager)
Quentin Le Grange completed a national diploma in cost and management accounting before joining Duys Engineering in 1994. Quentin joined Central Iron Engineering in 1998 in the administration department. Central Iron Engineering was a family owned entity that focused on manufacturing specialised equipment for the sugar industry. The company evolved to become a leading manufacturer of structural steel and components for the mining industry. Quentin was appointed managing director in 2004 after acquiring 27% shareholding in Central Iron Engineering. From 2004 to 2012 the company experienced significant growth in turnover from approx. R 12 Million in 2004 to R 60 Million in 2012. The company was sold as a going concern in 2012 and Quentin was re-deployed as the commercial director. Quentin has vast experience managing both local and international contracts and has long standing relationships with key role players in the industry. He brings industry knowledge and a new client base to LHL Engineering.
